Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor has reportedly received an extortion threat from a caller demanding Rs 5 crore while claiming to be Harry Boxer, an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Kapoor informed the Mumbai Police, following which the matter was handed over to the Anti-Extortion Cell and the Crime Branch for investigation. 8 Nagpur Jewellers Receive Threat Letter
Fear has spread among traders in Nagpur's bullion market after at least eight jewellers reportedly received threat letters in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang on Monday. The letters allegedly demanded Rs 10 lakh from each jeweller.
The senders threatened to harm the traders and their families. They also warned of serious consequences if the money was not paid or the matter was reported to the police.
According to the information available, the letters instructed the jewellers to write a particular slogan outside their shops as a sign of their willingness to pay. The senders reportedly said they would then share details about how and where the extortion money should be delivered.
Police suspect that local extortionists may be using the Lawrence Bishnoi gang's name to intimidate traders. The jewellers are considering approaching the police with complaints, while Tehsil Police are preparing to register a case.
