Hyderabad: An 18-year-old man died in an accident in Rajendranagar on Friday, November 6, a day after his parents gifted him a new bike.
The deceased, Ayyappa, aka Akash, was the only son of Raju, a daily wage labourer, and Kumari, a domestic helper. Akash was reportedly demanding a bike for quite some time, and his parents bought the bike on November 5 despite their financial struggles.
The accident occurred at Rajendranagar X Roads when Akash lost control of the bike and hit the median. While Akash died on the spot, his friend, Ramcharan, who was the pillion rider, was injured in the accident.
After being alerted, the Rajendranagar police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. A case of death due to rash and negligent driving was registered under Section 106 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)
