Binjharpur: Police arrested the headmaster of a government high school at Arei under Binjharpur police limits in Jajpur district Wednesday for allegedly molesting a Class VII student.
According to the complaint, headmaster Anadi Charan Jena allegedly behaved inappropriately with the student October 31.
After attempts to resolve the matter amicably failed, the girl’s mother lodged a complaint at Binjharpur police station Tuesday night.
Police questioned the student and registered a case (517/26).
Following her medical examination, the accused headmaster was arrested and produced before a court Wednesday afternoon.
Jena, however, denied the allegations, claiming that he had been falsely implicated in the case due to previous disputes.
